When we moved into our home, I knew that I was going to have to condense the things that I had in my apartment bathroom. We were pretty lucky with having a pretty big bathroom in our apartment. Small bathroom organization can seem so overwhelming and a bit deceiving when you don’t have the room that you’d like. But I am here to tell you that no matter the size of your bathroom, having a cute and organized bathroom can be done!
When working with my own bathroom, I immediately went to the things that weren’t absolutely necessary. Like the 600 bottles of bath and body works products, if you know you know (haha). I made a list, I am a big list maker, of the things that were a necessity to be in there. I then wanted to find a way to display those things in a cute manner. These are my favorite ways to display those items for small bathroom organization and decor so it doesn’t look cluttered.

This post is all about small bathroom organization.
All About The Organizing, But Also the Decorating!
1. Under The Sink Organization
This was a big one for me. I had so much stuff just shoved under our sink that it was so hard to find what you were looking for. When we moved into our home, I made sure that the messiness stayed there. I bought this amazing under-sink storage bin/caddy and when I say it has changed my life, I mean it! It can fit all of my bathroom-specific cleaning supplies on this caddy. I wanted something that was easy to take in and out for cleaning. The best part about this organizer, it is so affordable! This has been a game changer and helps keep it looking so clean and decluttered.
I have one of these under the sink in my bathroom and then I have some clean lazy susan organizers, which you can purchase here, for everything else under my sink. The caddy I keep stocked with my favorite bathroom cleaners, disinfecting wipes, scrubbers, hand soaps, and cleaning towels. On the lazy susan organizer, I keep it stocked with toothpaste, mouthwash, q-tips, extra body soaps, hair soaps, and toilet paper. I love to keep my toilet paper on here just to keep it off the bottom of the cabinet just in case some water were to get in, your toilet paper is safe!
2. Drawer Organizers
These will be a lifesaver! if you have minimal drawers like me, sharing is not always the easiest. Getting organizer bins to put in the drawers helps to keep everything separate and not look like a complete mess. Depending on the drawer size you may have to switch up the type of organizer that you get, but let me tell you, Amazon has soooo many options that I am sure you will find the perfect size for your drawers. They seem unnecessary, but I promise they are life-changing. We use two in the first two drawers and the last drawer is strictly for my hair appliances. Depending on how you want to organize and the shapes of your drawers, we use the first drawer for deodorant, skincare, floss, tweezers, etc. We use the second drawer for lotions, hairspray, dry shampoo, etc. We have a much taller second drawer that fits these fill-sized bottles perfectly. The organizers keep the products standing upright and a designated place to go for easy use. They really are worth it I promise.
3. Waste Bin
Every bathroom needs a waste bin. But it doesn’t need to be huge. Just a small can that fits snugly in the corner is perfect! A little hack I use for my waste bin is I always snag a few plastic grocery sacks when grocery shopping I toss a few in the bottom and put one lining the can. Not the most beautiful thing to see, but it’s the trash so it doesn’t have to be beautiful right? This makes it so much easier when emptying. Just grab the full sack and replace it with one in the bottom. The best part, is they are free so you don’t have to buy the little trash liners! They fit so well on the little bathroom waste bins too if you tie the handles of the bag and tuck them up under. So worth it for that easy cleanup!
4. Decorative Towels
Most small bathrooms come with that bar to hold the towels, at least mine did. I didn’t like the idea of placing our shower towels on it as all our towels don’t match and they don’t dry well when all folded up. I decided this would be just for some cute decorative towels. A couple bigger towels and a couple smaller ones on top of those. As for the our towels when we shower, I placed hooks in our bedroom for them to hang and dry and one hook next to the bar so that we bring our towel in and use the hook while showering. You barely even notice this hook and this way you always cute clean towels hanging in your bathroom for a more organized and decorative look to your small bathroom. I also add a matching hand towel to the towel ring by the sink!
5. Decorative Jars
I use little glass jars to place q-tips in that sit on top of my bathroom sink. You could also use these for cotton rounds or cotton balls. I found that having a way to display them in a cute way, added to the presence of the bathroom. We use q-tips daily around here so we wanted them to be easy to access. I placed this jar on a small wooden serving platter with a cute bottle of perfume and a small candle. I wanted to have them sitting with something and not all by themselves. This way they are displayed with a couple of other items for a super simple yet, cute look! You could also use the other jar in the pack on the wooden tray so that it all matches and place other frequently used items inside, I just didn’t have anything else we used enough to place them there.
6. Toothbrush/Toothpaste Holder
A toothbrush holder makes it so nice and convenient for your toothbrush/toothpaste. You can find super cute holders too that add the right aesthetic to your bathroom! We weren’t super ecstatic about having to place them on our counter, but after finding the right holder and these toothbrush covers, it has actually been much more convenient and really doesn’t look bad! When you don’t have the drawer space, these are a lifesaver to keep your toothbrush/paste all in one spot but also look great. This one is also so great because it allows any access water to drain out and doesn’t build up in the bottom and get moldy.
7. Bath Mat
If your bathroom is anything like mine, you only have room for one mat. I found a good size one that gets to function for all of the uses. A bath mat makes all the difference in the looks of your bathroom. Finding a quality, but easy-to-clean is a must. Sometimes that isn’t the first thing to come to mind, but I wanted to have a mat that I could pop in the washer and it would come out looking as good, but cleaner, as it did when it went in. It may not seem like it, but when it’s missing you can definitely tell. Having an organized bathroom comes with a pretty bath mat! I could not find the exact one that I use, but the one I linked is very similar and comes in a few different colors to match the style of your bathroom!
8. Shower Caddy
A small bathroom comes with a small shower, which comes with not a lot of room to place your shower items. Having a good quality and spacious shower caddy is a must. It saves you from having to place all our bottles around the edges of the tub and knocking them down constantly. These make your shower look put together, as well. It keeps everything in one place and organized. If that is the goal of your bathroom, a shower caddy is a must if you ask me! Again, I couldn’t find my exact caddy as I bought it a few years ago, but this one is similar and I love the looks of it! I love that the shampoo can fit on the bottom for a better reach. I will be purchasing this one for myself!
9. Wall Art
I love adding some simple wall art to the walls! it really ties together a room. I get cheap frames at Walmart and use free printable art from a few different websites that I will link below! Small bathrooms don’t typically have much wall space so I like to add them right above the towel rack. I switch these up all through the year. It makes it fun to match the theme of the holiday!
One thing I love to do is decorate the back of the toilet. Sounds strange, but it makes it that much cuter in your bathroom! I typically change it for the holidays. It is so much fun to do. I don’t go over the top, usually, just a cute sign from the dollar section in target, a cute plant, and a little room spray from bath and body works. When you have a small bathroom, which I am guessing that you do if you have made it this far, this is the perfect touch to add some more decorations when you have no shelving or other places to set any decor.
