Adding a simple centerpiece to your coffee table can easily make all the difference! It doesn’t have to be extravagant, but a little extra something adds a little pop. A little goes a long way!
Adding simple things is key. You don’t want to over stuff it with big pieces that will be in your way. Dust off some old vintage books, grab a small vase you have lying around and add in some fake greenery, some coasters or a candle and add it all to a serving board!

4. Add a Lamp
For me, a lamp is an essential. It creates that nice warm glow of light that is just the perfect amount. I believe with a lamp, the simpler the better. You can shop my exact lamp that I use here!
You can definitely add a sitting lamp to a side table, but I love a good modern standing lamp to add to the corner of the room. Pair it with a 60-70W light bulb for the perfect glow of light.
Lamps can break the budget too, so here is a few other places to find some lamps to add to your living room on a budget!
5. Pillows
If you don’t have pillows, your couch probably looks naked. You definitely want to add some pillows to and it doesn’t have to cost you a fortune! These are my favorite inserts from Amazon! Larger pillow inserts and smaller pillow inserts.
My favorite thing to do is get cheap inserts and just interchange the pillow cases. This way you always have the pillow and don’t have to buy a whole new pillow for Christmas, just the cover.
There are so many places to find reasonably priced pillow covers and my favorite is Amazon! They have so many options for every occasion. You can find my favorite pillow covers here!
6. Add A Throw On Your Couch
In pair with your pillows, every couch needs a good throw! Doesn’t need to be a huge fluffy blanket. A small lightweight throw will do the job.
Amazon has an amazing selection of throws to add to your couch, here is my exact one I use and love! It comes in a variety of colors too.
A throw can make all the difference in adding that extra touch to your couch so again, it isn’t looking naked.
7. Add A Shelf
There always seems to be the one spot that is missing something. Not quite big enough for a chair, but pictures are quite completing it. Get a small shelf or bookshelf to fill in that gap!
You can add a few books to your shelf and a few decorations to the top. This will help finish out your living room and fill in the gap.
