My living room in my first home is nothing to go and brag about. It is fairly small, but I still love it. I didn’t have to get too much for it. Compared to the living room in our apartment, we lost about half the size. So we ended up down grading items.

The items below are essentials for anything room. Big or small. These are the exact products that I have in my home and I love them.

I am a sucker for a good deal. So most of the items I have and will be showing you, are budget friendly. We love that right?

These are all linked to the exact items that I have currently sitting in my living room now.

Best Bedroom Essentials

My bedroom was the place I wanted to feel the coziest. I didn’t want too much to make it feel overwhelming and cluttered. We went with the bare minimum of essentials for our bedroom. We place the boxspring and mattress right on the floor!

All the art that I get to put on my walls is free! I find my favorite places to get free printable wall art and use that. I will sometimes send it to places like AlphaGraphics to get them blown up.

Again, we are all about a great deal in this household. Most of the items linked below are budget friendly!

These linked items are all the exact items that I have in my house.

Bedroom Essentials List:

  • Mattress
  • Sheets
  • Duvet Cover
  • Duvet Insert

Best Bathroom Essentials

essentials for your first home

My bathroom is another small space in our home. I didn’t want to add too much because it would become cluttered fast. This was a space I wanted to make cute, but not over do it.

Some of these things may sound a little like it’s not needed, but I swear by these! For instance, the fabric shower curtain liner is essential. None of those loud sticky plastic ones. I promise once you get one, you’ll never go back.

I don’t like my shower towel to stay in my bathroom, but in my bedroom instead. Weird I know, but it looks better! So I add one hook to hang it on while I need it, but keep the decorative pretty towels in there all the time.

I love to decorate the back of my toilet (haha). It adds that little pop that is missing! I always change it for the holidays and add the cute small sprays from Bath & Body Works to my display and it adds the cutest touch!

Linked are the exact products that I have in my bathroom at this current moment. These are the essentials for any bathroom!

Bathroom Essentials List:

  • Curtain Rod
  • Shower Curtain
  • Fabric Shower Curtain Liner
  • Shower Curtain Hooks
  • Shower Caddy
  • Hand Towels
  • Decor Towels
  • Towel Hook
  • Glass Jars
  • Tooth Brush Holder
  • Hand Soap
  • Plunger/Brush Combo

 Best Kitchen Essentials

things you need to buy a house for the first-time

My kitchen was the most exciting thing for me to put together. I dreamed about having my own kitchen in my own home for as long as I can remember.

This was a main room for us, so we spent the most here. I put refrigerator right at the top because some homes don’t come with. Ours did not and we wanted one that was sheik, but also was going to last us a long time. We planned ahead and got one with the water spout on the inside so that when our kids got older, no on was going to be pushing it for fun and making a mess.

We also found that having a swiffer and a mop is a must. When you have your deep clean days, break out the mop. But when you have some spills or a quick clean up the swiffer is the way to go!

If there has been one thing that I have learned since being in our home, it is that some things you just can’t go cheap on. You do that, you will end up buying multiples so why not spend the money for a quality item?

These are all linked to the exact items that we have in our kitchen right now and we love them all!
